Sharing with the Children
FWS #2249 "God Claims You" (v. 1)

Scripture to be Read before the children's message: Eph.5:8-10 (Passion Bible)

"Once your life was full of sin's darkness, but now you have the very light of our Lord shining through you because of your union with Him. Your mission is to live as children flooded with his revelation-light! And the supernatural fruits of his light will be seen in you-goodness, righteousness, and truth. Then you will learn to choose what is beautiful to our Lord.

Props: Flight Lights and IPHONE with light.

What do we use a flash light or our cell phone for? If we go camping? Go to the bathroom at night? Do You ever remember having the electricity go off in your house at night? The lights go off, the TV goes off, and it's completely dark? It's a little scary at first, isn't it?

When that happens in our house, we pull out our phone or go to the kitchen drawer and put out a flashlight like one of these. Do your families even keep a flashlight anymore or just depend on their phone?

The problem with both our phones and our flashlights is that they have to remain charged, with batteries or from the wall. And if they are charged, no problem we have the light we need.

Over 2,000 years ago, God looked down on our world and saw that we were living in darkness. So he sent us Jesus to be a Light in this world. That is why we celebrate Easter-and his death and resurrection.

While Jesus is no longer here with us physically, He sent us His Holy Spirit to live in us. And his love can shine through us to others.

Do you know what that makes us? His Flashlights! God gives each of us the power to share God's love to others and to Shine His light in our world. As we live for Jesus, others can see Jesus in us.

Prayer: Dear Jesus thank you for our children and all of our families today. Encourage others and help us to shine your Light and Love to others today. Amen

Pastoral Prayer

Gracious God, thank you for the beauty of your creation, for the promise of the approaching spring season and the bounty of all your good gifts.

Thank you for the gift of relationships-for our families and friendships that encourage and support us, nurture and uphold us, challenge and encourage us in both the good times and bad.

Thank you God for the gift of your son Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. The one who sets us free from self-centeredness and fear, the One who fills our lives with meaning and wholeness. He is the One who enables us to see with eyes of compassion, grace and mercy and self-giving love.

Lord, forgive us for those times when we fail to embrace your good gifts, when we choose to go our own way rather than trusting in your goodness and seeking your vision for our lives. Forgive us when we trust in our own strength rather than turn to You for Help and guidance.

God of healing and wholeness, hear us now as we hold before you those in special need of your healing presence. We pray especially for those who have been affected by the Cornea Virus, here in Wyoming, in the United States and across the world. Please be with our leaders and all medical personal who are working tireless to find a lasting solution. We pray for those who are struggling with fear, worry and depression, for those who are experiencing brokenness in their family and other significant relationships, and for those who feel alone at this time.

We hold before you these requests and also lift up our names from our Prayer List: Bobbie Larsen's mother and Paul's dad, all our shut-ins and those who are in assisted living facilities. We also pray for our clergy, staff and Bishop Karen and Jeff Rainwater, our DSD.

Lord, we ask all these things in your Holy Name. Now let us remember the prayer your taught us to pray:

Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

Scripture Ephesians 5:8-14 Rev. Nancy

8For once you were darkness, but now in the Lord you are light, Live as children of light-9for the fruit of the light is found in all that is good and right and true. 10Try to find out what is pleasing to the Lord. 11Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. 12For it is shameful even to mention what such people do secretly; 13but everything exposed by the light become visible, 14for everything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says, "Sleeper, awake!
