To date, the Volunteer Task Force for the United Methodist Youth Fellowship has had two very productive meetings, most recently on July 11th. While the participation has been consistent and enthusiastic, there is always room for more.
If you are the parent or grandparent of a youth, 6th through 12th grades, you should be there. If you are a youth in this age category, you should be there. If you have an interest in the growth of this age-group and feel that you could contribute to this growth, you should be there. No one is shut out. Every one of our meetings for both Task Forces has been announced multiple times in this sanctuary and through other church communications.
After our initial meetings the strong consensus of the UMYF task force group is that new, paid staff should be employed as Co-Directors of the Youth Ministries to coordinate the Fall Kick-off of UMYF. The Task Force has two major points of emphasis:
At this past Thursday's meeting of the SPRC, the Committee discussed and largely embraced the recommendations of the Task Force. We invite applications from anyone interested in serving as one of Co-Directors of Youth Ministries. We anticipate that the job will require approximately 6-8 hours per week per co-director for planning and coordinating the meetings. UMYF meets on Wednesday nights from 6-8 PM at King's Corner.
High school diploma or GED required; college preferred
